It's 2017!

Money grows - only if you invest

There's a lot of hype this time of year about resolutions.  That's not what this is about.

Money is hard, and a lot of people don't know how to talk about it.  I completely understand.  I have reservations about discussing the issue too.  Money talk can be anxiety-causing, but I want to open up the conversation.  Periodically, I will also post links to relevant websites or blog articles.

With this blog, my goal is to show others (my students...because I'm a middle school teacher) how incremental investing can grow over time.  I plan to post screenshots of my Betterment account (review) every weekend.  I will also automatically invest $50 each month.

I know that the market goes up and down over time.  Hopefully, I will have more than $600 at the end of the year.  We'll see!  I'm a long-term investor, so I do not plan on touching this money until I retire in 2028.

Full disclosure - I do have other retirement investment accounts with a financial investment advisor.
I'm happy with her and the returns I've been getting over the years.
I'm curious to see the difference between my managed accounts and this robo-managed account.
